pre-birthday notes:

we've started the festivities early by drinking champage. from this i have learned two things:

1. my father can't keep the cork from popping, but he can keep it from fizzing; and
2. champagne makes me feel bubbly.

so today there was a security breach at the vancouver airport. thousands of people milled about and stood in lines, aimlessly waiting hours for the security doors to open. i laughed and watched them while enjoying my smoothie drink.

today was slightly uneventful, but i did have an enjoyable conversation with the group of girls i had to do a biology "assignment" with. it goes something like this:
